Michael Tolerico, BA, CPM, CJM
Under the direction of the Sheriff and Undersheriff, Warden Michael Tolerico serves as the Jail Administrator of the Corrections Services Division and has charge of the administration, operation, and maintenance of the Passaic County Jail and the protection, custody, and discipline of approximately 1,100 inmates. Warden Michael Tolerico has over 17 years experience with the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office and has served as the Warden since March of 2010. Prior to being appointed to the position of Warden, he served as an Administrative Captain at the Passaic County Jail and has worked in the agency’s various divisions, including Corrections, Patrol, and K-9. His career has largely been focused on corrections, where he has worked in all aspects and was promoted from line officer to supervisor, manager, and now administrator. Warden Tolerico received his basic training at the Passaic County Police Academy, has a Bachelor’s of Art’s degree in Public Administration from Farleigh Dickinson University, and is a Certified Public Manager, Certified Jail Manager, and Certified Police Officer. Warden Tolerico is a graduate of the National Jail Leadership Command Academy (Class #2) and is an advocate of the American Jail Association’s certification programs, where he helps officers and supervisors individually obtain nationally recognized correctional proficiency certifications by serving as the agency’s certification liaison.
