Warden Luis Torres - Copy

Warden Luis Torres began his career in February 2002, when he joined the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office as a County Correction Officer. Through his dedication, unwavering work ethic, and exemplary leadership, he rose through the ranks. In August of 2014, he was promoted to Sergeant, and to Lieutenant in December of 2016. In September 2024, he was promoted to Captain, a role in which he has continued to excel in. Most recently, in 2025 he was promoted to Warden.

Throughout his career, Warden Torres has been a vital part of our agency’s operations. He is a former member of the Special Operations Response Team (SORT) and has proven himself as a leader in high-pressure situations. He also served as the SWAT and SERT Commander, overseeing critical operations and ensuring the safety and security of both our team and the public. Warden Torres also held the position of Passaic County Range Master, further demonstrating his commitment to the development of our officers.

His exceptional service has been recognized throughout his career with numerous commendations, including the Meritorious Service Award, the Exceptional Duty Award, the Gallantry Star, and several unit citations. Warden Torres is also a proud member of the NJ Police Honor Legion.
