The Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Unit of the Passaic County Sheriff’s Office is a vital support division that provides professional pre-hospital emergency care to residents, visitors, and law enforcement personnel throughout Passaic County. As an assisting agency, our EMS Unit works closely with local police, fire departments, and other first responders to ensure rapid medical response during emergencies and critical incidents.

Staffed by certified Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs), the unit is trained to deliver life-saving care in a wide range of situations—from traumatic injuries and medical emergencies to on-scene support during major incidents such as natural disasters, public events, or tactical operations. The EMS Unit also plays a key role in safeguarding the well-being of individuals in custody, officers on duty, and the general public.
